This is an excerpt of a letter from Albert. “I was among the participants of the Trauma-Informed Care training held in March 2020 in Arusha. I must sincerely say it was a deeply insightful and transformative experience. The knowledge and skills I gained during that training have significantly impacted both my personal growth and professional service.
Since then, I have had the privilege of serving in various organizations that support individuals affected by trauma. I worked as a Psychosocial Counsellor, supporting refugee girls and women as they processed traumatic experiences. Currently, I serve as a School Counsellor at an international school.
In addition, I’m in the process of registering a Community-Based Organization to offer pro bono counseling services to people in underserved communities. I’ve come to realize that many individuals in our rural areas live with unresolved trauma but have little access to mental health support. Our mission is to reach these communities and offer healing where it is most needed.
I want to express my heartfelt thanks once again for the Trauma-Informed Care training. Please extend my gratitude to the entire Loowww.loominternational.org/wp-adminm team for equipping us to serve better. Should there be any future training or similar programs, kindly consider including us—we would be most grateful.”
Albert is on fire – performing exceedingly well in changing his community.
