The extended training provided by Advanced Trauma Competent Caregiving is geared toward the needs of helping professionals who specialize in trauma care or lead teams of professionals, as well as parents & full-time caregivers of children experiencing the effects of trauma.
Advanced Trauma Competent Caregiving provides in-depth examination of nine modules of trauma content – including assessment tools and care strategies for use in the field, examines real-life case studies, and allows for extended time in small group learning activities.

MEET THE SPEAKERS
Julie Cooper is the Director of Child and Family Development at Back2Back Ministries. She works nationally and internationally as trainer in Trauma Competent Care and is a Trust Based Relational Intervention Practitioner. Her training passion focuses on understanding the impact of trauma and toxic stress on youth and strategies to care for them well whether in biological families, out-of-home care, or schools. Julie has over 20 years of experience working with vulnerable children professionally and together with her husband Matt, is parenting six children including two who joined their family through adoption from foster care.
Samantha Mathews is a Trauma Competent Care Trainer with Back2Back Ministries and is a Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education and has served with Back2Back Ministries for 8 years. While serving in Mexico, Samantha conducted Trauma Competent Care trainings, Nurture Groups for teens and on-going coaching of caregivers. Additionally, she spent two years as a full-time caregiver to ten boys in a children’s home. This experience is her motivation to teach, learn and develop more effective ways to implement trauma informed care.
