No Hunger in Vietnam
The yoke of poverty hinders and robs many around the world of opportunity. The second Sustainable Development Goal is “No Hunger,” because hunger is inexplicably linked with poverty and the lack of health and opportunity. Globally, Asia is the continent with the hungriest people – two thirds of the total population.
YWAM Mercy Vietnam believes that everyone deserves opportunity. They empower communities to address poverty through specific, sustainable, community-based development projects. Their first step in working in a community is to find families who are in poverty and invite them to join an Opportunity Team. These teams are created to provide its members with resources and accountability. They offer three main programs: a cow bank, for those who attend their livestock trainings, microloans for crops, animals, or small businesses, and economic training.
PLEASE PRAY FOR:
- For the success of these programs.
- That those who most need to have opportunity will be found and become part of these programs.
- For the well-being of these families and that whole communities will begin to change and thrive.
- For financial provision for YWAM Mercy Vietnam so that they can continue to make these opportunities available to those who most need them
